Mr. Iwamura manages the Banking and Financial Services Department of the Firm. Mr. Iwamura counsels the mortgage banking industry on commercial and residential loans, including foreclosures, bankruptcies, regulatory compliance, workouts, and lender liability. Mr. Iwamura’s litigation expertise includes the defense of claims for Predatory Lending, Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices, and violations of the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Mr. Iwamura is Fannie Mae Designated counsel for the state of Hawaii and litigation counsel for Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Washington Mutual Bank, and American Savings Bank.

Mr. Iwamura is a frequent speaker on mortgage banking issues for various business and legal groups. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Iwamura engaged in an insurance defense practice in Honolulu from 1990-1992, and in San Diego, California from 1987-1990.

Mr. Iwamura is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Mortgage Bankers Association, USFN and AFN.
